Day 1:

Welcome to Rome! Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Arrival at the hotel and check-in. A daily ticket for the Hop-On Hop-Off sightseeing bus is at your disposal. Visit Rome by traveling on one of Gray Line’s open-top Hop-On Hop-Off buses (I Love Rome City Tour) and admire your favorite landmarks from a different perspective. Our panoramic buses allow you to enjoy spectacular views of the Eternal City’s most iconic monuments. All you need to do is hop on, relax, listen to the audio commentary, and get on and off at any of the eight available stops along the route. The bus ticket included in this package is valid for one day. The bus makes eight stops and provides onboard audio commentary in 12 languages. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Return to the hotel on your own and overnight stay.

Day 2:

Departure at 7:15 AM by deluxe motorcoach to Assisi. Arrival and free time to visit this small town, surrounded by unmistakable medieval walls. We recommend a visit to the famous Basilica of St. Francis, with masterpieces by Giotto and Cimabue. Afterwards, enjoy a typical Umbrian lunch. Continue along the motorway connecting north and south of the Italian Peninsula and arrive in Siena. Monumental and entirely medieval, surrounded by powerful walls, Siena is known for having one of the most beautiful squares in the world: Piazza del Campo, site of the celebrated “Palio delle Contrade”. Proceed to Florence. Arrival, check-in at the hotel and overnight stay

Day 3:

Breakfast at the hotel and guided visit of this magnificent city, where Italian genius shines in all its splendor and purity. The city center, along with the Bell Tower, the Baptistery, and the Cathedral, forms an extraordinary ensemble of white, green, and pink marble, showcasing the transition from Florentine medieval art to the Renaissance. Visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, symbol of Florence’s wealth and power during the 13th and 14th centuries, with Brunelleschi’s Dome contrasting with the slender silhouette of Giotto’s Bell Tower; the Baptistery, a Romanesque structure famous for its Bronze Doors (including the “Gates of Paradise,” so named by Michelangelo); Piazza della Signoria; Palazzo Vecchio, an austere Gothic building; and finally, the Basilica of Santa Croce, overlooking one of the city’s oldest squares. Lunch in a typical Tuscan restaurant in Piazza Santa Croce. Afternoon at leisure, with an optional excursion to Pisa. This small city has preserved many reminders of its former greatness as a Maritime Republic and University city. External visit of the Square of Miracles, where the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, and the Baptistery stand. Overnight stay.

Day 4:

After breakfast in Florence, depart for the elegant city of Bologna. Upon arrival, explore its charming historic center, adorned with iconic porticoes, at your leisure. Begin your walking tour in Piazza Malpighi, leading to the heart of the city in Piazza del Nettuno and Piazza Maggiore. Here, admire the historic Palazzo del Podestà and the Basilica of San Petronio, the largest Gothic church in the world built in brick. Then, discover why Bologna is often considered Italy’s food capital as you delve into its vibrant street food scene, as rich and diverse as its culinary heritage. Strolling through the medieval streets, you’ll find a tempting variety of food stalls and markets offering both traditional and contemporary delicacies. With a light lunch in a local restaurant (included), savor the authentic flavors and unique dishes that define the renowned gastronomic identity of Emilia-Romagna. In the afternoon, continue to Venice. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in the Cannaregio district, a historic neighborhood well connected to the city’s main attractions. Free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful setting along the Grand Canal. Overnight stay.

Day 5:

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to St. Mark’s Square for a guided walking tour. Visit Piazza San Marco, the Doge’s Palace—symbol of Venice’s glory and power, seat of the Doges, government, and court of justice—connected to the Prison Palace by the Bridge of Sighs, where Casanova was once imprisoned. To conclude the tour, your guide will invite you to enjoy a typical Venetian aperitivo: the famous cicchetti, Venetian-style tapas, accompanied by a spritz or prosecco. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay.

Day 6:

After breakfast, depart for Tuscany, world-renowned for its landscapes, churches, castles, and exquisite wines. Continue to Val di Chiana with a stop in Montepulciano, a medieval town full of history and art. Famous for its “Nobile” wine, available in local cellars, Montepulciano also offers stunning panoramic views and a rich cultural heritage. During lunch in a typical restaurant (included), enjoy your meal paired with a glass of excellent local wine, carefully selected to enhance the flavors of traditional Tuscan cuisine. After lunch, brief free time before continuing to Rome, where the tour ends. Overnight stay.

Day 7:

Breakfast at the hotel and departure in the morning for a guided visit to the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Square. With our skip-the-line access, you’ll avoid the queues! Your guide will take you inside the Museums, home to one of the most important art collections in the world. Admire the stunning Gallery of Maps, the Gallery of Tapestries, the Raphael Rooms, and finally the Sistine Chapel, before reaching St. Peter’s Square, where you can admire the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica (exterior). Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay.

Day 8:

Breakfast at the hotel. At 7:00 AM, depart by motorcoach southwards along the “Highway of the Sun,” passing through the Lazio and Campania regions. During the journey, marvel at the breathtaking Italian countryside and the spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast, where crystal-clear waters meet lemon groves and picturesque villages. Upon arrival in Sorrento, jewel of the Amalfi Coast, discover its lively streets, artisan ceramic workshops, and historic churches. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the afternoon at leisure. For more adventure, you may join an optional excursion to explore the Amalfi Coast. In the evening, savor a delicious dinner at the hotel (dress code: jacket recommended for gentlemen), followed by overnight stay in Sorrento.

Day 9:

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the port of Sorrento to board a ferry to Capri, a timeless destination renowned for its rugged cliffs, mild climate, and lush vegetation. Upon arrival, embark again at Marina Grande to visit the Blue Grotto (weather permitting). Free time for lunch (not included) and to explore Capri at your own pace or enjoy shopping. In the afternoon, return to Sorrento by ferry. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 10:

After breakfast, enjoy some free time for a final taste of Sorrento’s charm. Around 1:15 PM (departure time will be reconfirmed by Carrani Tours staff), begin the last stage of your journey. With our expert tour guide, head to Pompeii, where a professional local guide will lead you on a fascinating walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site. Discover the remarkably preserved ruins of this ancient Roman city, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
